Following the Indiana Fever’s exit from the WNBA Playoffs, basketball star Caitlin Clark has shared her offseason plans, which include honing her golf skills. “Golf is something I’ve always loved. It’s the perfect way to unwind and challenge myself outside of basketball,” Clark said when asked about her downtime.

Her passion for golf isn’t new—during her time at the University of Iowa, she played alongside Zach Johnson at the John Deere Classic and will now participate in an LPGA Pro-Am event this November. Clearly, Clark’s talents aren’t confined to the hardwood!

From Court to Course: A Natural Talent

It’s no surprise that Clark excels on the golf course. A multi-sport athlete in her youth, she eventually chose to pursue basketball, but one can’t help but wonder what might have been if she had focused on golf. “I’ve always loved trying new things and pushing myself. Who knows? Maybe I could’ve been a golfer,” she joked in a recent interview.

According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, Clark recently posted a video playing golf with Fever teammate Lexi Hull. In a heart-stopping moment on a par-3 hole, she nearly sank a hole-in-one, coming just inches away. “That was one of the coolest moments I’ve had on a golf course—so close!” Clark shared excitedly.

Clark’s Growing Golf Presence

Her next big golf appearance is at the prestigious ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge Pro-Am at Pelican Golf Club on Wednesday. Open to the public, this event is hosted by LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam and always attracts fans and top athletes alike. With Caitlin Clark’s rising profile, it wouldn’t be surprising to see plenty of fans donning #22 jerseys as they watch her tackle the Florida greens.

A Multi-Sport Phenomenon

Caitlin Clark is proving herself to be a versatile athlete capable of excelling in more than one sport. Whether she’s dominating on the basketball court or impressing on the golf course, she’s an example of what multi-sport athletes can achieve. Have you ever tried to master more than one sport?
